Adopt a Family Project
Adopt a Family Project
Last year, for the Christmas Holidays, Encore adopted a very deserving family to grant them their Christmas wishes. (A single dad, raising 6 children on his own, suffering from Renal Cancer and the beginning stages of Parkinson's disease) With your help, Encore was able to grant the children their wishes and they were thrilled!
This could NOT have been done without each one of you.
Thank you for your generosity and giving spirits!
This year, the need is even greater!
The dad is home bound, has Stage 5 Kidney Failure, and the situation is DIRE.
This family of 6 children are extremely close. The whole family works together as a unit, like a finely-oiled machine....all working together for the good of keeping the family together. The oldest (21) has 2 jobs, works all night, takes care of the whole family as a mom would and does other work on the side. They each have a phone so that Dad can know where they are and communicate with them at any time. Dad maintains contact with all of his children as they come and go. They are Kensington attenders.
The dad is praying that God will allow him to live long enough to see all of his children become independent as they follow the Lord's leading. He said that he is too old and ill to get on the list for a new kidney. His kidney numbers are lowering and the doctors want him to be admitted to the hospital for dialysis. The whole family knows that if that happens, he will not return home and the children will have to be split up.
In order to keep the family together as long as possible, an in-home dialysis machine would be extremely beneficial. If you know of any way to make this happen, please let us know.
